Knicks general manager Scott Perry said shortly after the Feb. 8 trade deadline that Noah will remain away from the team "until further notice," Marc Berman of the New York Post reports.
The Knicks were surely hopeful to find a trade partner for Noah at the deadline, but that was always going to be a tall task with the veteran center's performance having declined sharply over the past two-plus years and more than $40 million remaining on his contract. It looks increasingly likely that the Knicks will eventually just write Noah off as a sunk cost and release him, as his relationship with the organization appears irreparable after he engaged in a verbal feud with head coach Jeff Hornacek during a Jan. 24 practice that resulted in the 32-year-old being restrained by teammates. The Knicks decided against suspending Noah for the incident and have instead opted for a mutual separation that could very well end up being a permanent one.

Tiago Splitter announced his retirement from the NBA on Sunday.
He was hoping for another job before the season, but the right opportunity never came. Since then, Splitter has been working as a reporter. The 33-year-old Brazilian has career averages of 7.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.6 blocks.

The Jazz (29-28 now) have extended their winning streak to 10 and moved above .500 for the first time in more than two months, after defeating Spurs last night. The defense played a big role in their latest victory, while Ricky Rubio (left hip soreness) missed his second consecutive game. It is unclear where this team can get, but right now there are fighting for a seed in the playoffs.

I could not do anything for 2 days just getting message about site maintenance? Any explanation what happened in the middle of the season and what is influence of those two days? I see that points are awarded although teams could not be accessed. I think this was not very proffesional anyway.

King👑Slayer here again....

Ok it was my fault last time but this time it’s on you guys....

🤷🏾‍♂️ I can’t fill my roster right now. Typically if u release more players than u have have trades (☝️🤨which I didn’t do by the way) u “undo trades” and start over.

😬That’s not working; I can’t complete my roster at all right now. Can I 🙏please gets some help with this, preferably before the next trade deadline. I’m already getting my ass whipped cause of my own mistakes, but between this issue and the “maintance” days, 🤢it not looking good for your boy right now.

(Tried to submit this through contact but it would post)

My team is The King👑Slayer. I made a mistake and did not complete my roster before the start time. I started to make make changes to my roster but didn’t finish. 😬 Could I please have my rosters restored to what it was along with the 3 trades that I had prior:

Bring back the following players:
Russell Westbrook
Joel Embiid
Milos Teodosic

Remove the following:
Andre Drummond
Terry Rozier

I was trying to play around with the roster and got pulled away from what I was doing because of an emergency. I didn’t get a chance to revisit it until it was too late. I don’t believe that it put me at advantage I just want to correct an error on my part and retrieve whatever points that were accumulated from the roster. Trust when I tell you, I am not trying to cheat the system; I messed up and I am hoping that a simple mistake won’t throw things off completely for me. In the future I will be attentive to my roster but right now I’m just asking for alittle grace 😕
🙏

A day after formally being waived by the Phoenix Suns, big man Greg Monroe is on the move back to the Eastern Conference.

According to multiple reports, the Boston Celtics have reached an agreement with the former Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks center. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports Monroe will sign a one-year, $5 million deal with Boston once he clears waivers on Sunday.

Monroe, is averaging 10.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 23.3 minutes per game this season.

Blake Griffin's Pistons debut was a successful one during a 104-102 win against the Grizzlies on Thursday, scoring 24 points with 10 rebounds, two blocks, no turnovers and one 3-pointer in 35 minutes. That meant 57 fantasy points in our game.
Not bad for a guy barely knowing the offense mechanisms of his new team and after arriving the day before. Note that 11 of his 24 points came from free throws, though.

This was a huge win for the Pistons as they basically just had to throw their game plan together on the fly. After the game, Griffin said the Pistons only ran four plays throughout the night when he was on the floor because those were the main ones they went over in shootaround. It was also surprising that he closed this game out for the final three minutes while Andre Drummond was on the sidelines. You really couldn't ask for much more out of Griffin and he'll be flirting with early-round value as long as he's active.

NY Knicks, with a wins/losses balance of 22/28 are still at arm length of reaching the 8th seed in the West Conference. The trades deadline is almost there and they should do something about it.

First thing, they are looking to part ways with Joakim Noah. At the beginning of the year it was hard to imagine Joakim Noah taking a diminished role in stride. The team’s nice start, in spite of Noah’s suspension, probably helped quell the tide. A prideful New Yorker and determined player, his body has failed him and his time away from the game has oxidized into a dense layer of rust. It simmered for a long time. Then finally things boiled over. How they are going to do this, trade, buyout, etc, is still a mistery.

Second thing, what to do about this season. To tank, or not to tank? That is the question. You can find an interesting article here: trade-deadline-knicks

As shocking as it might seem, Los Angeles Clippers abruptly ended their association with the team’s seminal franchise player, forward Blake Griffin, sending him to Detroit Pistons.

To complete the trade, the Pistons will send to LA Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic. Besides, Clippers get a first-round and a second-round draft pick. Detroit also acquired Brice Johnson and Willie Reed in the trade.

The Clippers won at least 56 regular season games from 2012 through 2015. But they couldn’t break through in the postseason. Most egregiously, they blew a 3-1 lead to Houston in the Western Conference semifinals in 2015, losing that series in seven games after blowing a 19-point lead at home to the Rockets in Game 6, who won with the likes of Josh Smith, Corey Brewer and Jason Terry leading the rally rather than All-Star guard James Harden.

Griffin, second on the Clippers’ all-time scoring list, was the highlight-reel road upon which the Clippers, long the far-behind second team in Los Angeles behind the Lakers, finally became relevant and a sustained winner. In a city that only responds to stars, Griffin became a superstar, with his ability to elevate and dunk giving the franchise a splashy nickname -- “Lob City” -- and a reason for locals to come out of pocket to watch them play.

Even after Chris Paul’s time with the Clippers ended, with Paul engineering a trade to Houston before last June’s Draft, the Clippers moved quickly to retain Griffin, giving him a five-year, $175 million max extension -- after showering him with video tributes and making up t-shirts that compared Griffin with the likes of Martin Luther King, Muhammad Ali, John F. Kennedy and Albert Einstein as part of their recruiting pitch.

However, things were not working for Clippers and they just decided to just let Griffin leave.

The Pistons have been reeling in recent weeks, sinking in the Eastern Conference, but that may soon change.

The trade could also mean more minutes for rookie Luke Kennard. The Pistons selected the former Duke star in the first round of last year's NBA Draft, but he has found playing time hard to come by this season.

Karl-Anthony Towns went for 16 points, 19 rebounds and three blocked shots over 34 minutes in Saturday's 111-97 win against Brooklyn, for his NBA-leading 43rd double-double.

Towns hit 7-of-16 from the field and he also added an assist and a steal. Of his 19 boards, 10 came on the offensive end, giving his team second-chance points in the 14-point win. He and the Timberwolves face a four-game schedule in the upcoming week, including showdowns at Atlanta on Monday and New Orleans on Saturday. The matchup with the Pels is a bit easier now that he won't have DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) to contend with.

Here the current top double-double rankings (number of triple-double in parenthesis):

1.Karl-Anthony Towns - 43
2.DeMarcus Cousins - 38 (3)
3.Russell Westbrook - 34 (15)
4.Andre Drummond - 32
5.Dwight Howard - 30
6.LeBron James - 26 (8 )
7.Kevin Love - 26
8.DeAndre Jordan - 26
9.Anthony Davis - 25
10.Clint Capela - 22

All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins will undergo surgery to repair a torn left Achilles tendon and will miss the remainder of the season, after being injured Friday night in New Orleans' 115-113 win over Houston. The injury was a non-contact one.

An MRI late Friday night confirmed an initial diagnosis of a full tear of the tendon.

Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry told reporters after the game that Cousins suffered an injury to his left Achilles. Multiple reports later surfaced that the initial diagnosis of a torn Achilles tendon was confirmed by an MRI. Cousins is expected to miss the rest of the 2017-18 season.

Cousins finished the game with 15 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists, marking his second triple-double this week. New Orleans has now won four straight and seven of its last eight games.

Cousins' standing as a teammate and a star player have never been higher while helping the Pelicans inch closer to their first playoff appearance since 2015 -- and the first postseason of Cousins' own eight-year career.

The 6-10 big man is averaging career-highs in rebounds, assists, steals and 3-pointers made per contest in the final season of his current contract. Cousins was expected to command a new max salary deal this offseason. Between New Orleans investing in him via trade last season and Cousins' dominant pairing with fellow big man Anthony Davis, the Pelicans figured to play a prominent role in his free agent decision.

Be strong Demarcus. He hope you will get back as soon as possible and shock us all with your performance.

DeMarcus Cousins' dominance was shown on Monday night, in a double-overtime victory over Chicago, where Cousins amassed 44 points, 24 rebounds and 10 assists in 52 minutes of play. The triple-double not only propelled New Orleans to the win, it also planted Cousins firmly on an extremely short list of NBA legends.

The last player to produce at least 40 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists in a game was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1972. The others: Wilt Chamberlain (six times), Oscar Robertson and Elgin Baylor -- all of whom are in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Cousins' performance was so dominant that Anthony Davis finished with 34 points, nine rebounds and five assists, and no one even cares.

Surely his fantasy owners will be happy enough as he also beaten our game record with the incredible amount of 119 fantasy points. Below the top ten marks on our game's history:

Rockets won against the Warriors last Saturday (108-116). That raises again the question about Houston being a real contender at last. The numbers say that this team is really good when they have a fully healthy roster. Actually, Houston is now 17-0 in games in which James Harden, Chris Paul and Clint Capela all play. With Saturday's win over the Warriors, the Rockets became just the second team since the 2014-15 season to beat the Warriors in a season series.
The win/loss ratio at the moment is 32-12, so this means a total 15-12 when they have some of the big-three men injured. So they are a really good team when their key players are on the floor, but not that a good team when some of them isn't.

Houston fans should start praying so their team get to the playoffs with no important injuries. Meanwhile, Harden and Paul are perfect choices for your fantasy team if you are looking for consistent players.

Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss the next two games to manage soreness in his right knee. By not playing in tonight’s game at Philadelphia and Monday’s home game vs. Phoenix, Antetokounmpo will have eight days without playing in a game, using that time to receive treatment. That seems a lot to cope for in you nbafantasy team. You should use your trades now.

In his fifth season, Antetokounmpo ranks first in the NBA in minutes played (37.4) and second in scoring at 28.2 points per game while averaging career-highs in rebounds per game (10.1) and field goal percentage (.546). He’s one of only five players in the league this season averaging at least 20.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game, and is on pace to join Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only players in Bucks history to average at least 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists for a season. On Thursday, Antetokounmpo was named a starter for the 2018 NBA All-Star Game and is the first Buck since Marques Johnson (1979-80) to be named a starter in two straight All-Star Games. The 67th NBA All-Star Game will take place on Sunday, Feb. 18, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.

The Houston Rockets plan for star guard James Harden to return from a hamstring strain Thursday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, barring any setbacks during Wednesday's practice, league sources told ESPN.

Harden, who has missed the last seven games, who had suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain in an overtime win against the Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 31, is officially listed as questionable for Thursday's home game.

If he finally plays he could have an important nba fantasy value, both in fantasy points and money, as his price has been kept dropping since the injury.
